Automatic Account Setup (Recommended)

Samsung Email can automatically configure your email account using EZBizMail’s secure Auto-Configuration system. This is the fastest way to set up your email on Samsung Android devices.

  1. Open the Samsung Email app.
  2. Tap Add account.
  3. Enter your Email Address and tap Next.
  4. Enter your Email Password and tap Sign in.
  5. Samsung Email will automatically detect and apply the correct server settings.
  6. Confirm the settings to complete setup.

Once setup completes, your email account is ready to use on your device.

Note: Auto-setup requires your domain’s Autodiscover / Autoconfig DNS records to be configured correctly. If automatic setup fails, follow the Manual Setup Instructions below.

Emails stored in your Inbox and Sent folders are automatically retained for 180 days. Other system folders (such as Trash and Spam) are retained for 30 days to help manage disk usage. To keep messages longer, use POP3 to download and save a local copy, or when using IMAP, move messages into a custom folder such as “Saved Email”.

Manual Setup - Samsung Email (Android) – POP3 or IMAP Setup

Overview

This guide explains how to set up your email account in the Samsung Email app on Android. Samsung Email supports both POP3 and IMAP with SSL/TLS encryption.

Replace {YOUR-SERVER-ID} with the server ID shown in your welcome email (for example ez22), and use your full email address such as address@example.com.

POP3 vs IMAP – which should I choose?

  • POP3 (recommended if you want long-term local backups)
    • Downloads messages to your phone and stores a copy locally.
    • Uses less server disk space.
    • Ideal if you want to archive mail on your device or another computer.
    • You can still keep messages on the server for 7–14 days so other devices can download them.
  • IMAP (recommended for multi-device syncing)
    • Keeps mail on the server and syncs folders across all your devices.
    • Uses more server storage.
    • What you read, move, or delete on one device is mirrored on the others.

Incoming mail (POP3)

Outgoing mail (SMTP)

  • Server (hostname): {YOUR-SERVER-ID}.ourcontrolpanel.com
  • Port: 465
  • Security type: SSL/TLS
  • Authentication: Required
  • Username: address@example.com
  • Password: Your email password

Step 1 – Open Samsung Email and start adding an account

  1. On your Android device, open the Samsung Email app.
  2. If this is your first account, the setup wizard will open automatically.
  3. If you already have an account, open the menu (≡), tap Settings, then tap Add account.

Step 2 – Enter your email address and password

  • Enter your full email address: address@example.com
  • Enter your email password.
  • Tap Manual setup if it appears, or choose POP3 account or IMAP account depending on your preference.

Step 3 – Choose POP3 or IMAP

Select the account type you want to use:

  • POP3 – for local backups & minimal server usage.
  • IMAP – for syncing across multiple devices.

Step 4 – Enter incoming server settings

IMAP example

  • IMAP server: {YOUR-SERVER-ID}.ourcontrolpanel.com
  • Security type: SSL/TLS
  • Port: 993
  • Username: address@example.com
  • Password: Your email password

POP3 example

  • POP3 server: {YOUR-SERVER-ID}.ourcontrolpanel.com
  • Security type: SSL/TLS
  • Port: 995
  • Username: address@example.com
  • Password: Your email password

Step 5 – Enter outgoing (SMTP) server settings

  • SMTP server: {YOUR-SERVER-ID}.ourcontrolpanel.com
  • Security type: SSL/TLS
  • Port: 465
  • Require sign-in / authentication: Enabled
  • Username: address@example.com
  • Password: Your email password

Step 6 – POP3 users: how long to keep mail on the server

If you chose POP3, look for options related to deleting messages from the server (wording varies by version):

  • Options like Delete email from server or Remove from server when deleted.
  • Set it to keep mail on the server for about 7–14 days if available, so other devices have time to download messages.

This helps balance local backups with server storage usage.

Step 7 – Finish and test

  1. Tap Next or Done to finish setup.
  2. The Samsung Email app will test the connection and sync your inbox.
  3. Send a test message to yourself to confirm that you can both send and receive email.

Troubleshooting

  • Cannot connect: Double-check your email address, password, and that the server name is {YOUR-SERVER-ID}.ourcontrolpanel.com.
  • Receiving works but sending fails: Confirm SMTP port 465 with SSL/TLS is set and authentication is enabled using your full email address.
  • Messages disappearing too quickly with POP3: Adjust the “delete from server” or retention setting to a longer value (for example 7–14 days).
  • Need IMAP instead of POP3: Remove the account and add it again choosing IMAP as the account type.
