Address Book & Calendar Sharing


EZBizMail allows you to share calendars and address books with coworkers and family across all supported devices and apps. Sharing is managed through the Online App (webmail), and synced to your devices using the technology each app supports (ActiveSync, CalDAV, CardDAV).

🧩 How Sharing Works in the Online App

All sharing starts in the Online App at:
https://webmail.<your-domain>

  1. Log in to the Online App.
  2. Select Calendar or Address Book from the left menu.
  3. Click the ▸ (options menu) next to the item you wish to share.
  4. Select Sharing.
  5. Add the email address of the person you want to share with.
  6. Choose the permission level:
    • View Only
    • Add & Edit
    • Manage / Full Access

Once shared, the recipient can sync the shared calendar or address book to any supported device using the instructions in this guide.

🔄 Sharing Between All Supported Apps

The EZBizMail platform uses standard, open protocols for syncing data. This means users on different devices and apps can share and edit the same calendar and contact lists.

For example:

  • A user on Android Thunderbird can share a calendar with someone using Outlook for Windows.
  • A user on iPhone can share contacts with someone using Thunderbird on Linux.
  • A user on Windows Outlook (with plug-in) can access the same shared items as someone on Android DAVx⁵.

The sharing is universal because all apps sync to the same calendar and address book stored in the Online App.

Apple devices support CalDAV and CardDAV built-in—nothing extra to install.

Calendar (CalDAV)

  • Go to Settings → Accounts → Add Account → Other.
  • Select Add CalDAV Account.

Contacts (CardDAV)

  • Select Add CardDAV Account.

📱 Android (Thunderbird or Default Mail App)

For best results, Android users should install DAVx⁵ to sync contacts and calendars. DAVx⁵ works alongside your preferred email app (Thunderbird, Samsung Mail, Gmail, etc.).

  • DAVx⁵ on Google Play (Paid) – One-time purchase with one-click install and automatic updates through Google Play. Recommended for most users who want the easiest, supported setup.
  • DAVx⁵ from davx5.com (Free / Open Source) – Free version aimed at advanced users and developers. It provides the same features but usually requires installing via F-Droid or manually downloading the APK, so setup is more hands-on than the Google Play version.

After installation, DAVx⁵ will automatically discover all Online App calendars and address books once you log in with your EZBizMail email address and password.

💻 Windows (Outlook Desktop)

Outlook does not support CalDAV or CardDAV natively. To sync calendars and contacts with the Online App, install this free plug-in:

After installation, use the “Online App” (or “SOGo”) profile in CalDAV Synchronizer to automatically configure your EZBizMail calendars and address books in Outlook.

🌐 Using the Online App

The Online App gives you full control over calendars and contacts:

  • Create and delete calendars
  • Share items with others
  • Assign view / edit / manage permissions
  • Accept shared items from other users
  • Sync with any supported app using the options shown above

Once your devices are connected, any changes you make in the Online App or on your devices will stay in sync across all of your computers and mobile devices.
