Outlook Mobile for Android - App Setup
Automatic Account Setup (Recommended)
Outlook Mobile for Android can automatically configure your email account using EZBizMail’s secure Auto-Configuration system. This is the fastest way to set up your email on Android devices.
- Install and open the Outlook app on your Android device.
- Tap Add Account.
- Enter your Email Address and tap Continue.
- Enter your Email Password when prompted.
- Outlook will automatically detect and apply the correct server settings.
- Tap Done to complete setup.
Once setup completes, your email account is ready to use on your device.
Note: Auto-setup requires your domain’s Autodiscover / Autoconfig
DNS records to be configured correctly. If automatic setup fails, follow the
Manual Setup Instructions below.
Emails stored in your Inbox and Sent folders are
automatically retained for 180 days. Other system folders
(such as Trash and Spam) are retained for
30 days to help manage disk usage. To keep messages longer,
use POP3 to download and save a local copy, or when using
IMAP, move messages into a custom folder such as
“Saved Email”.
Manual Setup - Outlook Mobile for Android – IMAP Setup
If you prefer POP3 so you can save local backups or conserve server space, please use another app such as Thunderbird (Android version) or a different mail app that supports POP3.
Overview
This guide explains how to set up your email account in the Outlook app on Android using IMAP with SSL/TLS encryption. Outlook Mobile is designed for IMAP and Exchange accounts and does not offer POP3 settings.
Replace {YOUR-SERVER-ID} with the server ID shown in your welcome email (for example, ez22), and use your full email address, such as address@example.com.
Mail server settings
Incoming mail (IMAP)
- Server:
{YOUR-SERVER-ID}.ourcontrolpanel.com - Port: 993
- Security: SSL/TLS
- Username: Your full email address (
address@example.com) - Password: Your email password
Outgoing mail (SMTP)
- Server:
{YOUR-SERVER-ID}.ourcontrolpanel.com - Port: 465
- Security: SSL/TLS
- Authentication: Required
- Username: Your full email address (
address@example.com) - Password: Your email password
Note: Emails stored in your Inbox and Sent folders are automatically retained for 180 Days and other systems folders (Trash/Spam etc) are retained for 30 days to help manage disk usage. To keep messages longer, move messages into a custom folder such as “Saved Email”.
Step 1 – Install Outlook from the Play Store
- On your Android device, open the Google Play Store.
- Search for Microsoft Outlook.
- Tap Install and wait for the app to download.
- Open the Outlook app.
Step 2 – Start adding an account
- If this is your first time opening Outlook, it will prompt you to add an account immediately.
- If you already have an account set up, tap your profile icon (top-left), then tap the gear icon to open Settings.
- Tap Add Mail Account → Add an email account.
Step 3 – Enter your email address
- Type your full email address, for example
address@example.com. - Tap Continue.
Outlook may try to automatically detect settings. If it does not connect, or if you see an option for Set up account manually, choose that option.
Step 4 – Choose IMAP and open advanced settings
- When prompted for account type, choose IMAP.
- Look for a link or option such as Advanced settings or IMAP account settings.
- This will allow you to enter the incoming and outgoing server details manually.
Step 5 – Enter IMAP (incoming) settings
- IMAP hostname / server:
{YOUR-SERVER-ID}.ourcontrolpanel.com - IMAP port: 993
- Security: SSL/TLS (sometimes listed as “SSL” or “SSL/TLS”)
- Username: Your full email address (
address@example.com) - Password: Your email password
Step 6 – Enter SMTP (outgoing) settings
- SMTP hostname / server:
{YOUR-SERVER-ID}.ourcontrolpanel.com - SMTP port: 465
- Security: SSL/TLS
- Requires sign-in / authentication: Yes
- Username: Your full email address (
address@example.com) - Password: Your email password
Make sure that Use the same username and password for sending mail (or similar wording) is enabled.
Step 7 – Finish and test
- Tap Done or Checkmark to save the account.
- Outlook will test the connection to the server.
- Once it finishes, you should see your inbox load.
- Send a test email to yourself to confirm that you can both send and receive messages.
Troubleshooting
- Cannot connect: Re-check the server name (
{YOUR-SERVER-ID}.ourcontrolpanel.com) and your email password. - Receive works but send fails: Confirm SMTP port 465 with SSL/TLS is selected and that authentication is required.
- Account added as Outlook/Exchange instead of IMAP: Remove the account and add it again using Set up account manually, then choose IMAP.
- Need POP3? Outlook Mobile does not support POP3. Use another app such as Thunderbird or your device’s built-in mail app that supports POP3.
